Project Description

As a part of an ongoing research project to explore ways to reuse old garments, I am seeking a research assistant to work with me to decompose t-shirts purchased from thrift stores and to rebuild the fibers, fabric scraps, and yarns into new fabrics and garments. The work will involve a lot of hand’s on activities, working with the automated pattern cutter, the industrial quilting machine, hand dyeing and felting, and some literature research. Open to apparel design students at any level of study. Two assistants would be ideal.
