Quick welcome-week related question: I actually transferred last semester, but there isn’t a spring semester welcome week, and I feel I’d really benefit from a lot of these activities. Can I still come?

Your meal plan will be activated when you move onto campus so you can use those at the dining locations throughout campus. When you come to the Student Union ballroom to pick up your t-shirt and welcome packet you will also be provided the locations for dining on campus as well as their hours of operation

Do we have to sign up for each individual event at welcome week? Or does registering automatically allow you to attend any of the scheduled events?

Annie, by registering for Welcome Week, you’re free to attend any of the programs during the week. You do not need to sign up for any individual events; you’re all set!

Andi, for the students who have arrived early (recruitment, band, athletics, etc.), you can check in for Welcome Week either on Monday, August 15 between 8:30 am and 4:00 pm or Tuesday, August 16 between 9:00 and 11:00 am in the Student Union Ballroom. Once you’re checked in, you can choose which events you’d like to attend, and come and go as you’d like!

You should plan to attend your College Spotlight Reception and New Student Convocation, both in the afternoon on Friday, August 19. Once you’re settled, check out the weekend events!

Where do you go to “sign-in” for Welcome Week? I have registered and went to try to go to an event today (3:00 pm: Speed Friendzy) and they wouldn’t let me in. I believe I might have done something incorrectly???

Kaylee, Have you picked up your t-shirt and booklet for Welcome Week? Our office is located in 201 Whitehurst, please feel free to stop by anytime from 8:00am-5:00pm. There is no “sign-in” for individual events, students are free to go to any event as they please. Please let us know if you have any more problems.

I’ve just been accepted into OSU, I’m a high school senior right now and I won’t be attending until next Summer. Is it too early to sign up for Welcome Week?
