What do you most anticipate about life at OSU?
I’m very excited to be in Stillwater next fall! I’m finally ready to be on campus as a student. My family has quite a few OSU alumni; so, I am pretty familiar with the game day atmosphere. We’re pretty enthusiastic when it comes to OSU athletics, and I am proud to represent America’s Brightest Orange! Also, I can’t wait to meet new people in Stillwater, and of course continue on to my higher education.

Pluto . . . Planet or Plutoid?
Planet

OSU Football Coach Mike Gundy famously declared, “I’m a man! I’m 40!” When will you join the ranks of adulthood? How will you know?
First, that is a priceless Coach Gundy moment! As for adulthood, I believe it is to be determined not by age but by actions. Once I know that I am able to be responsible for not just my own well-being, but the well-being of those around me, then I will be considered an adult.

What’s your favorite Dr. Seuss book?
Go, Dog. Go!

If you could have one superpower, what would you want? Why?
I think it would be cool if I could use suspended animation. That way I could pause time in order to get what is necessary done, and then I would have more time to relax and enjoy life!

What’s your favorite midnight snack?
Some type of breakfast food: cereal, waffle, toast, etc.

What’s the best costume you’ve ever worn?
I was Kevin, the bird from Pixar’s UP!, for a high school dress up day.

If you had to live under the sea, which animal would you be? Why?
I would probably be a giant sea turtle. Giant sea turtles are such majestic creatures. They get to see so much in their long lives, and they always appear to live in a leisurely manner. Plus, sea turtles remind me of Finding Nemo.

What do you hope to accomplish in FRS?
I am so happy that I was chosen to be part of the Freshman Research Scholars. I believe that it is such a wonderful opportunity. By conducting undergraduate research, I hope to learn first-hand what my field of study has to offer. I can’t wait to expand my knowledge beyond a classroom setting, and learn real life applications can be applied to my education. FRS will be a great learning experience and introduction to my future collegiate studies.

Anything else we should know?
I just really like these quotes:

“A pessimist is one who makes difficulties of his opportunities and an optimist is one who makes opportunities of his difficulties.”
– Harry S. Truman

“Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future.”
– John F. Kennedy
