OSU Students Contribute to a NASA Project at the Johnson Space Center

OSU’s “Space Cowboys” was selected to be one of ten university teams to participate in a NASA project at the Johnson Space Center (Houston, TX) that will use Hollywood-style motion-capture systems to track the body movements of participants in the reduced-gravity environment provided by a specially modified Boeing 727.  OSU students are considering a system similar to those used in gaming systems, such as the X-Box Kinect or Sony’s PlayStation Move, which work without the extensive calibration required by traditional film technology.  Continue for more…
